Shrimp is without a doubt one of the most popular forms of seafood in the US and in another country. When compared to other types of shellfish, like lobster for instance, it is less costly, and can be just as delicious if prepared correctly. It is really an extremely versatile shellfish and with a little bit of experience, is very easy to cook.

As the title of this article recommends, many people are searching for the best way to prepare frozen shrimp. The reason why this is this kind of popular question is because this shellfish freezes very well. Many of us, when we buy some, store the idea in the freezer for future use. In fact, most of the shrimp we purchase is frozen before we buy it from the keep. Even the shrimp that is supposedly fresh new, has more than likely been recently thawed. There is nothing wrong with this, as mentioned earlier, this shellfish gets frozen quite well.

Hopefully the shrimp you already have readily available is still in the shell. You should avoid, if possible, purchasing any that has been peeled. A lot of the flavor is within the shells, so if it has been pre-peeled, it might have lost a good deal of essential flavour. Besides, if you peel the idea yourself, you can save the shells and use them to make a delicious stock that can be used in lots of various other recipes.

Of all the various ways to prepare food shrimp, grilling and broiling are usually by far my favorite methods when i believe they impart the top flavor and are rather simple to get ready. Below is a recipe along with instructions for marinating and barbecuing shrimp.
ABOUT THAWING FROZEN SHRIMP

I highly recommend that you DO NOT use your microwave to defrost shrimp, as well as any meat for that matter. I realize, from past experience, that the micro-wave can partially cook the particular meat during the thawing process and in addition it does something to the flavoring and texture of the beef. I will usually take the shrimp out of your freezer a day or two before I plan on cooking, place it in a very covered bowl, and defrost it in the refrigerator. If I am in a really hurry, I will place them in a colander and thaw underneath running cold water.

ABOUT Barbecuing SHRIMP

Grilling this delicious shellfish, if at all possible on a charcoal grill, supplies intense flavor and they support wonderfully on the grill. Among the best types of ingredients that compliment barbequed shrimp are acids like lemon, lime, orange, tomato and apple cider vinegar. One of my all time preferred ways to grill them is simply by first marinating them in a citrus herb marinade. This is especially wonderful the summertime. It is light, healthy as well as goes great with an cold beer or glass of wine.

A Be aware BEFORE WE BEGIN

Keep the covers on when marinating and barbecuing. Many recipes call for grilling with the shells removed. This is not recommended as the shells not merely provide great flavor, they also protect the shrimp from overcooking as well as drying out. This is not necessary, however it is also quite helpful to keep the tails on as well. After food preparation, the tails provide an easy way to manage the shrimp while eating.
